$7.99

Praise for Say No More, Book 3:

“The third Gravediggers contemporary romantic thriller (after Gone to Dust) continues Hart’s winning formula of combining high adventure and espionage with steamy sex...Globetrotting from France to Last Stop, Tex. (home of the Gravediggers), to the British Virgin Islands, Hart’s high-tempo thriller never lets up. Fans will enjoy her employment of the entire Gravedigger team, who sat out much of the last book, as they stay one step ahead of the enemy.”
—Publishers Weekly

“[Say No More] by terrific talent Hart is a caper thriller where the stakes are life and death. Hart has built a compelling world…Each of these books builds on the characters of the previous novels, which adds emotional and psychological depth. With plenty of action, danger and romance, this is a book a romantic suspense fan can really sink their teeth into.”
—RT

About the book:

Return to New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Liliana Hart’s romantic suspense series, the Gravediggers, with SAY NO MORE, the thrilling game of cat and mouse between a member of the Gravediggers and the brilliant woman hot on his heels.

The Gravediggers aren’t exactly what they seem. They’re the most elite of the world’s fighting forces—and all they have in common is that they’ve been betrayed by the countries they’ve died for. Because they are dead. To their country, their military, and their families. Sometimes the dead do rise…

Dante Malcolm is a man of refined tastes. He was once a part of Britain’s elite intelligence force, but his double life eventually caught up with him. There was a reason he’d never been able to capture Simon Locke, a notorious thief who always seemed to be one step ahead. Dante was Simon, and eventually his extracurricular activities cost him his life, and he now belongs to the Gravediggers.

Liv Rothschild is a detective inspector with Interpol and the woman responsible for catching M16’s most notorious agent in his final heist—the heist that killed him. But something about his death has never sat right with her, and she’s been haunted by it for months. It was too easy, and Dante Malcolm was too smart to go down that way.

Dante might belong to the Gravediggers, but his heart and soul will always belong to the next job—each one with a bigger payout and more dangerous than the last. The rest of the team doesn’t know about his alter ego, because he made sure the information went missing from his file. So when the job he’s waited his whole life for seems like a possibility, he sneaks out of the country like a thief in the night, only to run into the one woman who’s ever been able to match him in brilliance—and passion—for the job. The problem is they’re standing on opposite sides of the law—and only one of them can walk away with the prize.

I hope it gets funded so I can read this beautiful book!

An afternoon of bliss brings a cascade of consequences for Elise Fountain. Shunned by her family and ousted from a job she loves, survival means a plummet down the social ladder to a position no woman has yet been able to keep: housekeeper to a frighteningly formidable prince.

Book #10 in Julie Anne Long's Pennyroyal Green series!

My thoughts: I haven't read this one yet, but I can't wait! Whenever I see the words "took to the high seas", I'm pretty much ready to buy the book! I can't resist anything even remotely swashbuckling. I'm also intrigued by the heroine's position as a housekeeper. We usually only get to see the upper class in historicals, so it will be different to read about the servants' point of view. Looks like another can't miss book by one of my favorite authors!

Spotlight: "The Blonde"

"The Blonde"
by Anna Godberson
Publisher: Weinstein Books

Release Date: May 13, 2014

Summary from goodreads.com:

From the  New York Times  bestselling author Anna Godbersen and Alloy Entertainment, a chilling reimagining of the life of Marilyn Monroe that is part biography, part love story, and part thriller.

Marilyn Monroe is at the height of her fame, the object of the world’s desire. Attention is her drug, the very definition of who she is. Her own wants and needs have become fleeting at best, as if she sees herself only through others’ eyes. But there is one thing Marilyn still wishes for beyond all else—to meet her real father. That’s the part you already know, the legend—but here’s the part that’s never been told.

In Anna Godbersen’s imaginative novel, set at the height of the Cold War, a young, unknown Norma Jean meets a man in Los Angeles—a Soviet agent? A Russian spy?—who transforms her into Marilyn the star. And when she reaches the pinnacle of success, he comes back for his repayment. He shows her a photo of her estranged father and promises to reunite them in exchange for information: Find out something about presidential candidate John F. Kennedy that no one else knows. At first, Marilyn is bored by the prospect of, once again, using a man’s attraction to get what she needs. But when she meets the magnetic Jack Kennedy, she realizes that this isn’t going to be a simple game. What started with the earnest desire to meet her father has grave consequences for her, for the bright young Kennedy, and for the entire nation. The Blonde is a vivid tableau of American celebrity, sex, love, violence, power, and paranoia.

Spotlight: "Jack Absolute"

"Jack Absolute"
by C.C. Humphreys
Publisher: Sourcebooks Landmark
Source: N/A
Release Date: May 7, 2013

The following description is from goodreads.com:

A new historical adventure series starring the dashing Jack Absolute that has already been called "the finest historical novels since O'Brian." (Good Book Guide UK)
In 1777 Jack Absolute, the charming lover in Sheridan's comedy The Rivals, is famous throughout London. However, this notoriety comes as something of a shock to the real Jack Absolute when he arrives in England after four months at sea. But there's barely time for outrage before he finds himself dueling for his life. Even worse, as soon as he's won the duel he's forced to flee London by the quickest means possible, becoming a spy in America's war of Independence.
Thus we meet Jack Absolute - rogue, duellist, charmer and Captain in the Light Dragoons. From the field of honor in London through the pivotal battle of Saratoga to a hunt for a double agent in wintry Philadelphia, this novel marks the impressive debut of this new series.

Author Bio (from the publisher):

C.C. Humphreys is a novelist, fight choreographer, and actor who played Jack Absolute in The Rivals for a six-month run in London in the mid-1980s. When he became a full-time writer a decade ago, he decided to transform his leading man into a title character. Humphreys has written seven historical fiction novels including The French Executioner, which was runner-up for the CWA Steel Dagger for Thrillers 2002. The Jack Absolute series will feature three books: Jack Absolute, The Blooding of Jack Absolute, and Absolute Honour.

Must Read: "At the Duke's Wedding"

I wanted to share a book that I just found that I simply must read asap!

Since I love historical romances and short story anthologies, does it get much better than a regency anthology from some really awesome historical romance writers??

Right now it's only in ebook form, and since I don't read many ebooks, I may have to wait until it's out in print.

"At the Duke's Wedding"
Anthology by Caroline Linden, Katharine Ashe, Miranda Neville, and Maya Rodale
Publisher: The Lady Authors
Release Date: June 10, 2013

Summary from Goodreads:

As society gathers at Kingstag Castle for the wedding of the year, matrimony is in the air. But who will be the bride? With swoonworthy lords, witty ladies, eccentric relatives, a gaggle of free-spirited girls, not to mention the world’s best high perch phaeton, it’s a recipe for mayhem — and romance. Award winning, best-selling authors Katharine Ashe, Caroline Linden, Miranda Neville and Maya Rodale serve up delectable Regency fun and a sexy contemporary twist in this anthology of original novellas.
Four authors, four couples, four deliciously romantic surprises. When it comes to love, anything can happen…

That Rogue Jack by Maya Rodale
Jack, Lord Willoughby is charming, handsome, and utterly irresponsible. In other words, he’s the worst person to entrust with the ducal wedding ring. Miss Henrietta Black is prim, proper and the ideal person to help find the priceless family heirloom that’s gone missing… as long as she isn’t distracted by Jack’s gorgeous smile and tantalizing attempts at seduction. They MUST find the ring before the wedding… if they aren’t too busy falling in love.

P.S. I Love You by Miranda Neville
Handsome, inarticulate Frank Newnham asks for his cousin Christian's help when he woos Rosanne Lacy by letter. Rosanne falls for Frank's delicious prose, but when they meet in person at the duke's wedding party, Rosanne can't understand why Frank seems so ... dull. And why is she drawn to the dark brooding Earl of Bruton, with his scarred face and air of melancholy?

When I Met My Duchess by Caroline Linden

Spotlight: "Orphan Train"

"Orphan Train"
by Christina Baker Kline
Publisher: William Morrow
Source: received from publisher
Release Date: Apr 2, 2013

The following description is from goodreads.com:

The author of Bird in Hand and The Way Life Should Be delivers her most ambitious and powerful novel to date: a captivating story of two very different women who build an unexpected friendship: a 91-year-old woman with a hidden past as an orphan-train rider and the teenage girl whose own troubled adolescence leads her to seek answers to questions no one has ever thought to ask.

Nearly eighteen, Molly Ayer knows she has one last chance. Just months from "aging out" of the child welfare system, and close to being kicked out of her foster home, a community service position helping an elderly woman clean out her home is the only thing keeping her out of juvie and worse.

Vivian Daly has lived a quiet life on the coast of Maine. But in her attic, hidden in trunks, are vestiges of a turbulent past. As she helps Vivian sort through her possessions and memories, Molly discovers that she and Vivian aren't as different as they seem to be. A young Irish immigrant orphaned in New York City, Vivian was put on a train to the Midwest with hundreds of other children whose destinies would be determined by luck and chance.

The closer Molly grows to Vivian, the more she discovers parallels to her own life. A Penobscot Indian, she, too, is an outsider being raised by strangers, and she, too, has unanswered questions about the past. As her emotional barriers begin to crumble, Molly discovers that she has the power to help Vivian find answers to mysteries that have haunted her for her entire life - answers that will ultimately free them both.

Rich in detail and epic in scope, Orphan Train is a powerful novel of upheaval and resilience, of second chances, of unexpected friendship, and of the secrets we carry that keep us from finding out who we are.

Spotlight: "The Butternut Tree"

"The Butternut Tree"
by Maureen Ann Richards Kostalnick
Publisher: Bookstand Publishing
Source: received from publisher and publicist
Release Date: Oct 26, 2012

The following description is from goodreads.com:

Avon, Ohio, was a sleepy little farm town in 1945. A simple way of life focused around strict Catholic doctrine, St. Mary's Church, and the objective truths and sense of right and wrong contained within those hallowed institutions. Tolerance was a luxury, one in which this town never indulged, favoring the rod over compassion. In 1928, when a young woman was the victim of sexual assault, she was tarnished, regardless of her subsequent marriage and a house full of children. Years after the assault, I was born into this family -- a family that shared a dilapidated farm house scarcely big enough to contain two people, let alone my grandparents, mother, sister, and two brothers. The townspeople's denial became condemnation as my father divorced my mother; the Town shunned our family and my mother took to her bed, unable to face herself or the world. Unaware of the cause of my mother's inability to function, I only knew I would grow to live a different life. I made a promise to that effect at the age of seven, under the shade and protection of my Butternut Tree. The fulfillment of that promise has taken many turns

So when she is forced to apply for a job as a telephone switchboard operator to support her two sisters, she knows it won’t be easy. “Hello Girls” must conduct themselves according to strict-and often bewildering-rules. No talking to the other girls. No chatting with callers. No blowing your nose without first raising your hand. And absolutely no consorting with gentlemen while in training.
Meanwhile, young lawyer Lincoln Cole finds himself in the unfortunate position of having to enforce the bank’s eviction of the three Gregory girls from their parents’ home. He tries to soften the blow by supporting them in small ways as they settle into another home. But fiery Hannah refuses his overtures and insists on paying back every cent of his charity.
